01Who can join the Nigerian Library Association, Oyo Chapter?+
Practising librarians, information scientists, archivists, library-school students and any professional engaged in library and information services within Oyo State are eligible to apply.
02How do I become a registered member?+
Submit the membership form via the Contact page, pay the appropriate category dues, and present evidence of qualification. The Secretariat processes applications within two weeks.
03What is the difference between NLA and LRCN?+
NLA is the professional association of librarians. The Librarians' Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN), inaugurated in 2002, is the statutory body that regulates the practice of librarianship in Nigeria.
04How do Special Interest Groups (SIGs) work?+
SIGs are member-led communities of practice organised around library type or specialisation. Members may belong to one or more SIGs and participate in their meetings, journals and CPD activities.
05Does the chapter publish a journal?+
Yes — chapter proceedings, conference papers and selected research are published in the chapter Annals, distributed to all paid-up members and partner institutions.
06How can institutions partner with the chapter?+
Universities, NGOs and government agencies may partner on training, advocacy, or community outreach. Please write to the Secretariat outlining the proposed scope.
